From TV screens, from the media, from the Internet, streams of dirt are pouring on teachers. The teacher is always at gunpoint. Everyone can interpret his every word, his every act in his own way. The teacher is the most vulnerable person. He has a minimum of rights and a maximum of responsibilities. No matter what happens to the child from poor performance to committing a crime the teacher is to blame.
The teacher is not protected in front of students
A child can insult him, humiliate him, even hit him, and there will be no punishment for this (a lot of videos on the Internet prove this). On the contrary, the teacher will be blamed for everything. He did not find an approach. But not all children can be found! There was a time when I worked in a class where children with ZPR studied. It was ninth grade, and the children were between seventeen and nineteen. Two of them were already repeatedly convicted. Thank God I managed to find a common language with them, but every time I went to this class I did not know how the lesson would end. If at least one had the desire to call me or to use force against me, I could not do anything. Protection I would not find for sure. I really went to them like caged tigers, because they were huge inadequate children for whom there were no concepts of morality.
The teacher is not protected in front of the parents of the students
Now this is the trend: parents are always right. They come to the administration with claims and threats, unfoundedly blame the teachers, and they are trusted. And who worked forty years at school and devoted her entire life to children, can only make excuses for the fact that she correctly checked the box and did not call her son a moron. Parents can be understood. Children are the most expensive thing for them, and they cannot accept the idea that they're or Masha actually answered poorly or disgusted themselves. So who is the scapegoat? Teacher. Parents are not at all embarrassed in evaluating teachers. They will say about the young man: What can she take from her, she doesn’t know anything! About the old man: Yes, she should not retire anymore, she’s insane.” But at the same time, none of these parents can not only teach a lesson or teach something, but five minutes to keep the attention of twenty-five completely different children. And if they will immediately complain that the child has suffered psychological trauma. The administration will side with the parents so as not to spoil the image of the school. The union will not intercede, because it has long been pocket. And the teacher, spat upon and scolded, will either go to experience his humiliation secretly, or write a letter of resignation.
The teacher is not protected in front of his superiors
The school administration will order him to leave to work on a day off, or to clear the snow (there were already high-profile examples of this), or to submit reports, and the teacher will not be able to refuse. He used to be obedient and patient. And if he refuses, they will resort to the most important argument no, not to dismiss! To conscience. The teacher must! A teacher cannot do otherwise! A MYSTERY TEACHER! And the teacher agrees to everything. And if the boss wants to mock the teacher higher, then there really is a trouble. A large official wanted the teachers to sing in the choir, they sing. Wanted them to stand on skis they will stand up. I wanted to kick out on a cleanup day go. Nobody remembers any rights. The teacher has NO rights.
I do not want to speak pathetically, but for a teacher, school is not working, but life.
Work is what ends beyond the threshold of the workplace. The teacher brings everything home: not only students' notebooks, but also their life, their problems, successes and failures. The teacher answers the phone calls of the students' parents even at night. The teacher sets aside all his affairs for later to do school affairs. The teacher calls his students my children and actually considers them his own. The teacher sleeps 5-6 hours a day. More students themselves are worried about their exam results. He does not care what happened to his graduates after leaving school. The teacher, sometimes knows more about the child than his parents. The teacher lives, not only his life, but also the lives of hundreds of his students.
